Description

A Parkland Course established in 1891 by Dr John Allison and original 9 holes layed out by Old Tom Morris. Soon changed to 18 holes on same site as is used now. Course is easy walking and with 5 par 3s and only 2 par 5s it is not as short as the yardage suggests with several par 4s over 400 yards. Play from yellow tees is almost as long as from the whites. Ladies have a par 73 SSS 72 course with 6 par 5s and 5 par 3s. Water in play from 2 tees and several good dogleg holes. Visitors welcomed on weekdays but weekend play must be with a member. Societies welcomed Wednesdays and Fridays. 2 fore 1 , Greenfree etc accepted making a round £18 per person. Course regularly used for County Matches for men and ladies and also major County Competitions.
