Description

Glasgow Gailes Links is owned and managed by Glasgow Golf Club, the 9th oldest golf Club in the world. Visitors are welcome to share the golfing traditions and excellent facilities enjoyed by the members. Willie Park of Musselburgh, a former Open Championship winner, designed the course and Willie always believed this links to be one of his best creations. The classic layout is tough, fair and tradionally Scottish, wild heather and gorse define the fairways and the greens are guarded by strategically placed bunkers. Sandy Lyle, former Open and Masters Champion describes the course as "one of the world's truly great test of links golf", and it has been chosen by the R&A as a final qualifying venue for The Open Championship every time it has been at Royal Troon and Turnberry. Less than an hour from Glasgow, and only 5 miles from Royal Troon and 7 miles from Prestwick, Glasgow Gailes Links is a great test of golf, and a traditional links at its very best.
